This is probably the only book you will need to build your own boat using composite materials. although the book was written in 1982, the information is still completely valid, and i say it after reading a dozen books on composite materials. the book is very easy to read, the instructions are really clear and easy to follow.. Ken hankinson's book is over 30 years old now, so i'd consider something that incorporates some modern techniques, resin systems and materials. try arthur edmunds: "building a fiberglass boat" or dave geer's "elements of boat strength"..
