Boat Water Pump Keeps Running
boat water pump keeps running
My 05 300 has another minor issue, should i replace this pump? my fresh water pump pumps water just fine but wont stop running. i have run all my faucets for over an hour and unscrewed the outgoing water line to bleed the system.. Water pump is damaged : the water pump may have suffered internal damage to a seal, bearing, or impeller. the motor will keep running but the pump is unable to develop normal pressures. "damage" may include a broken impeller blade, scale or debris clogging the impeller or other pump components, or a failing pump seal or bearing.. This caused the water pump to run continuously and to not shut off. it could also produce low psi in the system. the replacement part is a shurflo (255-313) 1/2" twist-on pipe strainer..
boat water pump keeps running One of the best improvements to the potable water system you can do is to add an accumulator. it stops the short-cycling that is common with these types of pumps, removes the pulsing of water flow at faucets and generally helps lessen the wear and tear on the pump (ie less racket of the pump running).. Now, the problem is that the bilge pump is still running today and my boat is on a lift. there is no reason for it to be running this long as it clearly is not taking on water while sitting on a lift. is the float sensor for the bilge pump stuck or something? i don't want my battery to die or the pump to burn out if it keeps going like this..
