I am in the process of starting a wood boat project,and would like to know if anyone has ever used 5200 for constructing a boat out of cypress wood.?this boat will be lapstrake on oak frames...thanks for any help...i always used welwood resorcinol glue on plywood in the past.. boat glue for wood I use ca just for tacking things in place and then use gorilla glue and thinned epoxy for inside and the use finishing epoxy for exterior. now all these made the boat solid now for strkes, i use basswood and then use thin ca which soaks into wood and hardens the strakes, may have to do this strake bit a couple of times. excellent results.. The devlin “stitch and glue” method is a superior way to build a wooden boat. it has been developed and refined here at devlin designing boat builders for almost 40 years, and has been adopted by other segments of the wooden boat industry..
