swamp runner boat motor Re: swamp runner mud motors at 2.5hp, even though it's a mudmotor, i'd doubt you've have enough power to push yourself through any sort of moderate vegetation, let alone lillypads or thick canary reed and i doubt it would have enough power to "dig" into anything more than loose silt.. Re: swamp runner advice i have owned an sps kit to use on my layout boat. what i liked was that it was an inexpensive outboard it handles weeds pretty well but nothing like a go-devil or backwater would, they have their downfalls they are just cheaper and not made as well as american longtails so i guess as long as you don't plan on running it.
