Kite Pulling Boat
kite pulling boat
Test of the new wingcommander rc full electronic kite-control-system. boat: airon marine 42 , weight: 12tons, length: 42"(12,5m) , engine: 2x400 hp, consumption: 100. The kite is pulling the boat forwards. we are mainly sailing the beam reaching (half wind) courses and up wind, close reach ones. on teh broad reach and running the apparent wind will be to weak. it is time to tack! actually in order not to cross over the steering lines we simply jibe. funny under the kite it makes nearly no difference.. An early (1984) experimental kite rig being used to pull a boat. kiteboating or kite boating is the act of using a kite rig as a power source to propel a boat . kiteboating is a type of surface water sport , but it also has transportation uses [1].
kite pulling boat I've been into kites for a few years and there is a single line kite that i think could possibly be used to pull a boat. it's the japanese fighting kite called a rokkaku. it is a single line kite and is hexagonal. when they are used for fighting other kites they are adjusted so that by pulling or releasing the string momentarily you can make. Because the kite lines pull on the boat at an upward angle, the lift generated by the kite helps to pull the boat out of the water as well as to pull it forward, decreasing displacement and drag (and in the case of a hydrofoil boat, facilitating foiling), whereas the rig on a conventional boat actually depresses the boat as it heels, increasing.
