How board books are made. unlike other books, board books are not ‘bound’ in the traditional sense. instead, during the board book binding process, 2-page spreads are printed on parent sheets, then cut, assembled, and glued together by hand, one set of pages at a time.. Davey red label is a high-density homogeneous board with a proven record as a standard component in nasta/msst specification grade book manufacturing and library binding. boards meet or exceed all requirements of the book manufacturing institute (bma) as tested to appropriate ansi, astm pr tappi standards..

Custom board cutting is done mostly on an electric guillotine cutter. the parents sheets are 26" x 38" (standard board) or 30" x 40" (davey board). because of the consistency in thickness and dimensions of our board, cutting charges are standard and based primarily on the number of parent sheets required to fulfill th.
