It was a very nice quality built boat with a price tag (10.5k) less than a classic 18 outrage twice it's age. in the end though i am a classic whaler purist at heart and overlooked all of the nice features of the edgewater all for the classic yacht like aesthetics.. Edgewater is known for their quality construction and use of high-end manufacturing materials utilizing precision engineering. building a wide variety of sizes and models they provide a fishing boat to meet most peoples differing needs, from small inshore bay boats such as the 240is to its larger center console cousin 368cc.. Edgewater powerboats builds a wide variety of boats which share one common trait: all are designed for the family fisherman. center console, express, dual console, and bay boat models are all on the list, ranging in size from a diminutive 15' center console to monster 37'10" center console that can carry triple 350-hp outboards on the transom.. 
edgewater boat build quality Correct, edgewater boats were designed by bob dougherty of whaler. however without the terrible ride. and would rather a 2-3 year old lifetime quality boat than a new, less quality boat. i agree, i'm torn on the forward seating boats, but if it comes down to that vs cuddy cabin, i'll compromise on fs.. Edgewater prides itself on building “unsinkable” boats, an attribute that starts with the single piece infusion process. the 228 is built with vacuum infusion, using high-quality vinylester resin. spi allows edgewater to use 50 percent less resin, making the hull much lighter. the stringers, hull and engine bed are infused at the same time..
